Gerben Schermer
As curator of contemporary and animation art Gerben Schermer (Netherlands) is known for his choice for quality and innovation. From 1985 until 2018 he created, directed and developed the international Holland Animation Film Festival. Schermer’s track record in the presentation of the art of animation shows ambitious programming, yet intimate and accessible, including committed and experimental programmes, animation installations and artists in residency.

Ruth Lingford
Born in London in 1953, Ruth Lingford has been making short “feel-bad” films since leaving the Royal College of Art in 1992. Her films Death and the Mother (1994), Pleasures of War (1997) and Little Deaths (2010) have won prizes internationally. She has also worked on documentaries and music videos. She has taught in the UK at the RCA and the National FIm and Television School, but since 2005 she has been teaching at Harvard University, where she is Senior Lecturer in Animation in the Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies.

Sander Joon
Sander Joon is an Estonian animation artist. He works with 2D and 3D digital animation, as well as traditional hand-drawn animation. In his work, Joon focuses on the consequent design and uses animation to create surreal worlds with a dash of humor. His films Velodrool (2015), Moulinet (2017), and Sounds Good (2018) have screened at festivals all over the world and won awards from several festivals, among others Stuttgart Trickfilm International Animated Film Festival, PÖFF Shorts, Kaboom Animation Festival and Fredrikstad Animation Festival. He’s currently working on his short Sierra, which is set to premiere in 2022.
