
Bryan Parcival
Bryan Parcival is a Boston & Detroit-based experimental filmmaker and mixed-media artist whose work combines animation with live-action film and still photography. He began his professional career at Olive Jar Studios, where he worked as a commercial director, animator, cinematographer, and associate creative director. Later, shifting into full-time academia, Parcival has been a faculty member at the Rhode Island School of Design for twenty-three years, with a focus on experimental film and stop-motion animation. He also teaches classes at the Massachusetts College of Art & Design and Harvard University. His personal mixed-media work has won awards and screened at film festivals worldwide, including Sundance, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, the World Animation Celebration, Dragon*Con and many others. Parcival’s work often explores themes of ghosts, echoes, hauntings, and humor through an experimental and performative lens.
