This film is inspired by my grandmother’s betel nut stand. It expresses the mood of a lonely little boy, my feelings when I was little, and speaks about the environmental issues in Taiwan.
The industry of the betel nuts in Taiwan fell with the mudslide in the 1980s. I found the industry of betel nuts in Taiwan and my childhood highly relevant, just like floating on an endless river and having a bunch of unanswered questions. Is that all I can do, is there nothing else but to pray to God?
